Spensall Engineering, a manufacturing business in Leeds, required a major electrical upgrade to support its expanding operations. Their existing electrical supply was unable to meet the growing power demands of new high powered welding robots and other essential machinery. They needed a solution that would provide sufficient power capacity, minimise downtime to avoid disrupting production, and incorporate a space saving cable management system to distribute power efficiently.

The Challenge

The existing electrical infrastructure at Spensall Engineering was not equipped to handle the increased energy demand from their new automated welding robots. Without an upgrade, production efficiency and reliability were at risk. As a busy manufacturing facility, they could not afford extended downtime or disruptions to daily operations. Additionally, the installation required a robust overhead cable management system to ensure power distribution was organised and did not take up valuable floor space.

Our Solution

West Yorkshire Electrical provided a tailored electrical upgrade that met Spensall Engineering’s requirements while minimising operational disruption. A 300A electrical supply upgrade was installed to handle the increased energy demand, ensuring that all high powered machinery could operate efficiently. New distribution boards were designed and installed to optimise power distribution across the facility, reducing strain on circuits and improving overall reliability. Dedicated power feeds were implemented for the new welding robots, allowing them to function safely and effectively. To maximise space and maintain a clean working environment, a suspended cable ladder system was installed, keeping power distribution organised and secure. All work was scheduled around production hours, allowing the project to be completed with minimal downtime.
