What We Do

EV Chargers for Care Homes and Supported-Living Sites

We design and install EV charging systems for care homes, residential care settings and supported-living sites across Leeds and West Yorkshire.

Care homes rarely have just one type of vehicle using the car park. Staff may be parked for an entire shift, company or pool vehicles may need to be ready for scheduled journeys, while visitors may only be on site for a few hours. We design the charging around these different requirements, your available electrical capacity and how the site operates day to day.

We also plan the installation around the care environment. Our electricians keep tools and equipment secure, follow site access and safeguarding procedures, and work to minimise disruption to residents, staff and visitors.

Based in Leeds, our NICEIC-approved, OZEV-authorised team installs commercial EV charging across West Yorkshire, from initial site assessment through to testing and commissioning.

Designed for Care Settings

Staff, Fleet and Visitor Charging from the Same Site

Simply installing several 7kW chargers isn't always the right answer for a care home. Before specifying equipment, we look at who actually needs to charge, when vehicles are parked and what your existing electrical supply can support.

Staff charging during shifts

Long staff shifts can provide useful charging windows. Rather than every vehicle needing maximum charging power immediately, smart charging and load management can distribute available capacity according to the system configuration.

Keep operational vehicles ready

Where your care home operates electric pool or company vehicles, we can include their charging requirements in the design and consider when those vehicles need to be available.

Control access to your chargers

For chargers that support it, RFID or other access-control features can restrict charging to authorised users. This can be useful where staff, fleet and visitor parking share the same area, helping manage access across shared charging points.

Add charging without ignoring the building

Care homes can already have significant electrical loads from kitchens, laundry equipment, heating, lifts and other building services. We assess the site's electrical capacity before deciding how much additional EV charging load should be connected.

Can a care home use the Workplace Charging Scheme?

Yes, if the organisation and installation meet the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) eligibility requirements. From 1 April 2026, eligible installations can receive up to 75% of eligible costs, capped at £500 per socket and 40 sockets across all sites per applicant.

No. Being a care home does not automatically make an organisation eligible. The applicant and installation site must meet the WCS eligibility requirements, including the requirements for designated off-street staff and/or fleet parking.

Yes, where the electrical installation has sufficient capacity and the charging system is designed accordingly. Where multiple chargepoints are required, load management can help distribute available electrical capacity between chargers.

Yes. Where the selected charger supports access control, features such as RFID can be used to restrict charging to authorised users. This can be useful where several staff members share charging facilities.

Yes. We also install solar PV systems and solar-compatible EV chargers. Where the equipment supports it, available surplus solar generation can be directed towards EV charging. We’ll assess your existing or planned solar PV system when designing the installation.

For commercial installations, we assess the site requirements before recommending the charging system. This includes the electrical supply, available capacity, proposed charger locations and installation requirements.

Yes. We manage the installation from the initial site survey through to installation, commissioning and charger setup. Our team is NICEIC-approved and OZEV-authorised.
